I am a senior Communication Disorders major at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. I am 21-years old and am originally from Madison, WV, but currently reside in Huntington. I will graduate with a B.A. in Communication Disorders in May of 2003. I plan to continue my education and pursue a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology by attending Graduate School at Marshall University in the Fall of 2003. I am uncertain as to what work setting or population I would prefer to work with; however, I am extremely interested in Autism as you may be able to tell from my work with this project.

In addition to being a full-time student, I am also employed by Autism Services Center, where I work with two clients; Mike, a 12-year old male with autism, and Renae, a 23-year old female with Asperger's Syndrome. I work with each individual through a community-based program, in which I help them to gain skills in the areas of communication, socialization, cognition, and self-efficacy. In working with these two wonderful individuals, I have learned a plethora of priceless information, as well as gained many wonderful experiences that I will never allow myself to forget.

When I'm not in school or doing something related to school or my job, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend of three and a half years, Drew. I also enjoy staying in shape, reading, writing/journaling, visiting my family, and keeping up with Marshall Thundering Herd football (GO HERD!!).

I have thoroughly enjoyed developing this project. I hope that it can be a valuable tool to anyone interested in learning more about autism.
