Check my webliography out...

Welcome to Heather’s world! My webliography consists of many things that are of interest to me. Please… meander around and as always, I hope you enjoy!

Professional Links: These are sites that I find helpful when confronted with a question or problem in the areas of Speech-language Pathology and Audiology (my professional areas). Check them out!!

  • ASHA --A professional website for the American Speech and Hearing Association. This website offers information to professionals (Speech-pathologists and Audiologists) as well as students. This site is a wonderful tool and is one that I visit often.
  • ERIC Digests --ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) can provide helpful information to anyone conducting research. These digests contain articles written by professionals who are considered experts in their fields. I have found these articles to be very informative tools throughout my college career. Click here and type in a topic to view digests that contain articles relating to your topic of interest.

Research Related Links: These are links that I am finding are very helpful in obtaining research information about Managing behaviors in autistic individuals. Also, see the ERIC link above to find another wonderful research tool.

  • Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies—Autism Section --The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies page gives an introduction to autism and the behavioral characteristics associated with the disorder. It also discusses some behavior management techniques used by parents and professionals who work with autistic individuals.
  • Autism Society of America --The Autism Society of America is an organization that "supports quality research to address many unanswered questions about autism". Here, one will find general information on autism, a list of other resources, and interesting news articles.
  • Google - This link will take you right to google, a wonderful and very popular search engine that can provide you with an abundance of links to sites of all sorts. All you have to do is type in a topic you want to find out more about and google can hook you up with all sorts of sites that may be helpful to you. This is going to be extremely helpful when I am doing my research.
  • Marshall University Libraries Online -Here, one can search for articles from various databases. This serves as a very convenient and helpful research tool.

Class Related Links: These are the homepages for my CD 315 (Computer Networking) and CD 426 (Therapeutics Procedures) classes. You can click on these to see what’s going on in these classes and what’s STRESSING me out so much!

  • CD 315 --This is the homepage for my CD 315 (computer networking class). As one can see, we have lots of things going on right now, all of which are very time-consuming and yet so neat at the same time. Mrs. McComas is sure keeping us busy!!
  • CD 426 --This is the homepage for my CD 426 (Therapeutics Procedures) class. Right now, we are discussing treatment plans, report writing, and obtaining baseline data (forgive me if I’ve left anything out. We do so much, it’s hard to keep up and there’s some overlap of this class’s topics with my other classes’ topics). We are also beginning to talk about our semester project.

Personal Stuff: These are links to sites that are important to me and that I visit quite often. I use the Marshall homepage everyday to access my e-mail, and I’m treasurer of the MU NSSLHA chapter. I am also getting ready to apply to grad schools, so the Graduate Schools homepage is popular for me too at this point. I also love to workout and love reading about different fitness plans and nutrition info. Muscle and Fitness Hers is a magazine I read often, so I thought that I would link up their website. Check them out!!

  • Marshall University --It’s all about Marshall! Marshall students come here to check e-mail often, and others may use it just to see what MU is all about. Here you can find out more about our awesome Thundering Herd football team as well as all of the other sports teams that Marshall has.
  • Marshall University NSSHLA Chapter --This is the homepage for the MU chapter of NSSLHA (the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association). I am the treasurer of this group and we have many things planned for this year. Open this page to see what’s going on!
  • Graduate School Information --This site provides information on all graduate programs across the country. You can search for grad schools by majors and geographic location.
  • M&F Hers Online --This is a very nice site that offers info. on workout programs and nutrition designed to meet the needs of women. It also provides general health information.

My Music Links: I LOVE music!! These are links to three of my favorite bands (the Dave Matthews Band, which is my favorite band of all time, my favorite new band Coldplay, and the Corrs). Also, I love to download music and check out new and local stuff (like my favorite local band Guinness Clarke's Wine)at MP3.com. Look at these!!

  • Dave Matthews Band -- Attention all you DMB fans!! Here’s a site that everyone will love. I have always loved Dave even before people had really heard of him. This site provides tour info. album info. and all sorts of general info. on the band. Plus, you can even buy DMB merchandise and find out how to become a member of the Warehouse, which is the official DMB fan club.
  • Coldplay -- Coldplay is my favorite new band. These guys are really moody and mellow—just the kind of music I like. Their first album “Parachutes” was awesome and their new album, “Rush of Blood to the Head”, is also fantastic. This is their homepage, which gives you a biography of the band and even some journal entries from a few of the band members. Also, find out tour info. and album info. here.
  • The Corrs -- I must admit, I'm a sucker for Irish bands and I love Celtic music (keeping in touch with my Celtic heritage). I've liked the Corrs for some time now, even though they didn't become big until their last album. Their music consists of pop beats with a little bit of Irish folk mixed into it. Check this site out to find out more about the band, info. on albums and videos, and shop for Corrs merchandise.
  • MP3.com -- This site offers an awesome selection of music to download. You can search for music by artist, album, song, or by genre. Plus you can search for info. on local bands as well. I can always find out when my favorite local band, Guinness Clarke’s Wine is playing and where. My friend Jeff Ellis is the lead singer of this band. We used to work together at Borders. Click here to check out the band's very own webpage.

Shopping Links:--These are links to a few of my favorite clothing stores. I love to shop!!
